Paper workflows are a great place to start. Paper is a leading indicator of workflow health and efficiency. Similar to blood pressure warning of potential problems in your body, paper is a symptom of inefficacy.


Follow your paper workflows and you will find the bottlenecks in your organization. There are several good tools out there to collect the workflow data. The problem is that most of these tools are sold by the same companies that sell copiers and other paper producing products.


To eliminate obvious conflicts of interest from vendor agendas, it's important to structure any SaaS agreement offering these tools wisely to ensure unfiltered access to the raw business intelligence.
